Welcome to a laptop battery specialist of the Hp laptop battery
HP has announced the HP mt40 Mobile Thin Client, which is targeted at telecommuters and on-campus mobile workers.
The HP mt40, which checks in at 4.78 pounds, is an updated and rebranded version of the 6360T, HP's sole offering in the mobile thin client space.
"We've been in the mobile thin client area for a number of years, leveraging our commercial notebook chassis, and the rugged features of the ProBook line, like magnesium hinges," said Walt Jurek, Thin Client Product Marketing Manager for HP. "As part of a numbering change, the current 6360T is changing to the mt40."
Jurek said the upgrades to the new offering extend well beyond the name change.
"Customers told us they wanted more screen real estate, so we increased this from13 to 14 inches," he said.
The processor has also been upgraded, from an Intel Celeron B810 to a Celeron B840 dual core processor, which HP says will enable PC-like performance when viewing or working with digital graphics.
"Thin clients don't require as powerful a processor as PCs, as long as the CPU has the ability to execute a remote desktop protocol, and this has plenty of horsepower to do that," Jurek said.
Memory has also been enhanced, from 2GB to 4GB, and the machine's internal storage has also been bumped up, from 1 GB internal storage to 16 GB.
"The HP mt40 gives a little local room for storage," Jurek said.
A choice of battery such as Hp EV087AA battery, Hp EX942AA battery, Hp Pavilion ZT3000 battery, Hp 337607-001 battery, Hp 337607-003 battery, Hp 398876-001 battery, Hp PB992A battery, Hp PB994A battery, Hp PB991A battery, HP Compaq PB994 Battery, HP Compaq NX6110 Battery, HP Compaq NC6400 Battery options is also available, with a 6 cell, 9 cell and an optional clip-on battery.
The software enhancements are significant. HP Velocity software, which improves the quality of the connection ensuring top network performance when using bandwidth-hungry applications, makes its first appearance on this type of HP product. It was launched earlier this year on HP's desktop products.
"We have exclusive licensing for two years on the server side piece [from Live QOS], which prevents against packet loss, and allows a lost packet to be recreated locally instead of asking for a retransmission," Jurek said.
HP Device Manager 4.5, the latest version of HP's powerful thin client management tool, will come preinstalled on the HP mt40 and future thin clients to help users easily configure and deploy HP thin clients.
"HP Device Manager 4.5 adds the ability to do imaging wirelessly so the thin client can be accessed and imaged remotely," Jurek said.
"Both of these new software features will be appealing to the channel, especially those that offer services since they can now leverage these abilities," Jurek added.
The HP mt40 Mobile Thin Client will be available worldwide in mid-December. Pricing is being finalized now, and should be known within one to two weeks.
"Our goal is to have it comparably priced with the previous model," Jurek said.
